A nine-year-old girl has been killed in a crash in the Scottish Highlands.
The fatal collision - involving a Volkswagen Polo and a Ford Ranger - occurred on the A831 between Drumnadrochit and Cannich at about 5.30pm on Wednesday. Police Scotland said emergency crews, including an air ambulance, were mobilised after the alarm was raised. The schoolgirl, who was a rear passenger in the Polo, was pronounced dead at the scene. The driver and front seat passenger of the car were taken to Raigmore Hospital in Inverness for treatment.

A three-month-old girl who died while camping with her family in Staffordshire has been named by police.
Officers were called to land off Strawberry Lane near Great Wyrley at 8.45am on 5 September by paramedics from the West Midlands Ambulance Service, who were responding to a report of a baby in cardiac arrest.
